The thrill of working as a performer typically includes the uncertainty of finding the next gig to pay the bills. It takes a unique form of resilience to live with this feeling, paired with a competitive environment of fellow working actors. Solomon Parker III views this lifestyle as a privilege. Since performing in his middle school’s take on the musical “Mulan Jr.” in 2007, Parker has chased the thrill ever since. After graduating from a community college in 2016, he developed the mantra “Broadway 2020” as a goal. Parker said he’s “thinking big to make it big.”
