The Global Climate Strikes were inspired by 16-year-old Greta Thunberg, a Swedish climate activist. Across the globe, millions of people gathered to participate in possibly the largest climate strike in history. An estimated 4 million people were in attendance, says vox.
Many students from the surrounding area traveled to Washington D.C. on September 20th to march from John Marshall Park to the lawn of the United States Capitol and hear speeches from the event organizers.
